Job

욥기

Job.1

[1] There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God, and turned away from evil.
[2] There were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
[3] He had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and very many servants; so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east.
[4] His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each on his day; and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
[5] And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually.
[6] Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.
[7] The LORD said to Satan, "Whence have you come?" Satan answered the LORD, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it."
[8] And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?"
[9] Then Satan answered the LORD, "Does Job fear God for nought?
[10] Hast thou not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
[11] But put forth thy hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face."
[12] And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself do not put forth your hand." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
[13] Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house;
[14] and there came a messenger to Job, and said, "The oxen were plowing and the asses feeding beside them;
[15] and the Sabe'ans fell upon them and took them, and slew the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
[16] While he was yet speaking, there came another, and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
[17] While he was yet speaking, there came another, and said, "The Chalde'ans formed three companies, and made a raid upon the camels and took them, and slew the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
[18] While he was yet speaking, there came another, and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house;
[19] and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
[20] Then Job arose, and rent his robe, and shaved his head, and fell upon the ground, and worshiped.
[21] And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return; the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
[22] In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

　

1 장

[1] 우스 땅에 욥이라 이름하는 사람이 있었는데 그 사람은 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자더라
[2] 그 소생은 남자가 일곱이요 여자가 셋이며
[3] 그 소유물은 양이 칠천이요 약대가 삼천이요 소가 오백 겨리요 암 나귀가 오백이며 종도 많이 있었으니 이 사람은 동방 사람 중에 가장 큰 자라
[4] 그 아들들이 자기 생일이면 각각 자기의 집에서 잔치를 베풀고 그 누이 셋도 청하여 함께 먹고 마시므로
[5] 그 잔치 날이 지나면 욥이 그들을 불러다가 성결케 하되 아침에 일어나서 그들의 명수대로 번제를 드렸으니 이는 욥이 말하기를 혹시 내 아들들이 죄를 범하여 마음으로 하나님을 배반하였을까 함이라 욥의 행사가 항상 이러하였더라
[6] 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 섰고 사단도 그들 가운데 왔는지라
[7] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀왔나이다
[8] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 유의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난자가 세상에 없느니라
[9] 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 욥이 어찌 까닭없이 하나님을 경외하리이까
[10] 그와 그 집과 그 모든 소유물을 산울로 두르심이 아니니이까 주께서 그 손으로 하는 바를 복되게 하사 그 소유물로 땅에 널리게 하셨음이니이다
[11] 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 모든 소유물을 치소서 그리하시면 정녕 대면하여 주를 욕하리이다
[12] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 내가 그의 소유물을 다 네 손에 붙이노라 오직 그의 몸에는 네 손을 대지 말지니라 사단이 곧 여호와 앞에서 물러가니라
[13] 하루는 욥의 자녀들이 그 맏형의 집에서 식물을 먹으며 포도주를 마실 때에
[14] 사자가 욥에게 와서 고하되 소는 밭을 갈고 나귀는 그 곁에서 풀을 먹는데
[15] 스바 사람이 갑자기 이르러 그것들을 빼앗고 칼로 종을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피한고로 주인께 고하러 왔나이다
[16] 그가 아직 말할 때에 또 한 사람이 와서 고하되 하나님의 불이 하늘에서 내려와서 양과 종을 살라버렸나이다 나만 홀로 피한고로 주인께 고하러 왔나이다
[17] 그가 아직 말할 때에 또 한 사람이 와서 고하되 갈대아 사람이 세 떼를 지어 갑자기 약대에게 달려들어 그것을 빼앗으며 칼로 종을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피한고로 주인께 고하러 왔나이다
[18] 그가 아직 말할 때에 또 한 사람이 와서 고하되 주인의 자녀들이 그 맏형의 집에서 식물을 먹으며 포도주를 마시더니
[19] 거친 들에서 대풍이 와서 집 네 모퉁이를 치매 그 소년들 위에 무너지므로 그들이 죽었나이다 나만 홀로 피한고로 주인께 고하러 왔나이다 한지라
[20] 욥이 일어나 겉옷을 찢고 머리털을 밀고 땅에 엎드려 경배하며
[21] 가로되 내가 모태에서 적신이 나왔사온즉 또한 적신이 그리로 돌아 가올지라 주신 자도 여호와시요 취하신 자도 여호와시오니 여호와의 이름이 찬송을 받으실지니이다 하고
[22] 이 모든 일에 욥이 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 어리석게 원망하지 아니하니라

　

Job.2

[1] Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the LORD.
[2] And the LORD said to Satan, "Whence have you come?" Satan answered the LORD, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it."
[3] And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause."
[4] Then Satan answered the LORD, "Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life.
[5] But put forth thy hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face."
[6] And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your power; only spare his life."
[7] So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and afflicted Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.
[8] And he took a potsherd with which to scrape himself, and sat among the ashes.
[9] Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God, and die."
[10] But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
[11] Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came each from his own place, Eli'phaz the Te'manite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Na'amathite. They made an appointment together to come to condole with him and comfort him.
[12] And when they saw him from afar, they did not recognize him; and they raised their voices and wept; and they rent their robes and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.
[13] And they sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.

　

2 장

[1] 또 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 서고 사단도 그들 가운데 와서 여호와 앞에 서니
[2] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다
[3] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 유의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자가 세상에 없느니라 네가 나를 격동하여 까닭없이 그를 치게 하였어도 그가 오히려 자기의 순전을 굳게 지켰느니라
[4] 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 가죽으로 가죽을 바꾸오니 사람이 그 모든 소유물로 자기의 생명을 바꾸올지라
[5] 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 뼈와 살을 치소서 그리하시면 정녕 대면하여 주를 욕하리이다
[6] 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 내가 그를 네 손에 붙이노라 오직 그의 생명은 해하지 말지니라
[7] 사단이 이에 여호와 앞에서 물러가서 욥을 쳐서 그 발바닥에서 정수리까지 악창이 나게 한지라
[8] 욥이 재 가운데 앉아서 기와 조각을 가져다가 몸을 긁고 있더니
[9] 그 아내가 그에게 이르되 당신이 그래도 자기의 순전을 굳게 지키느뇨 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라
[10] 그가 이르되 그대의 말이 어리석은 여자 중 하나의 말 같도다 우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 재앙도 받지 아니하겠느뇨 하고 이 모든 일에 욥이 입술로 범죄치 아니하니라
[11] 때에 욥의 친구 세 사람이 그에게 이 모든 재앙이 임하였다 함을 듣고 각각 자기 처소에서부터 이르렀으니 곧 데만 사람 엘리바스와 수아 사람 빌닷과 나아마 사람 소발이라 그들이 욥을 조문하고 위로하려 하여 상약하고 오더니
[12] 눈을 들어 멀리 보매 그 욥인 줄 알기 어렵게 되었으므로 그들이 일제히 소리질러 울며 각각 자기의 겉옷을 찢고 하늘을 향하여 티끌을 날려 자기 머리에 뿌리고
[13] 칠일 칠야를 그와 함께 땅에 앉았으나 욥의 곤고함이 심함을 보는고로 그에게 한 말도 하는 자가 없었더라

　

Job.3

[1] After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
[2] And Job said:
[3] "Let the day perish wherein I was born,
and the night which said,
`A man-child is conceived.'
[4] Let that day be darkness!
May God above not seek it,
nor light shine upon it.
[5] Let gloom and deep darkness claim it.
Let clouds dwell upon it;
let the blackness of the day terrify it.
[6] That night -- let thick darkness seize it!
let it not rejoice among the days of the year,
let it not come into the number of the months.
[7] Yea, let that night be barren;
let no joyful cry be heard in it.
[8] Let those curse it who curse the day,
who are skilled to rouse up Levi'athan.
[9] Let the stars of its dawn be dark;
let it hope for light, but have none,
nor see the eyelids of the morning;
[10] because it did not shut the doors of my mother's womb,
nor hide trouble from my eyes.
[11] "Why did I not die at birth,
come forth from the womb and expire?
[12] Why did the knees receive me?
Or why the breasts, that I should suck?
[13] For then I should have lain down and been quiet;
I should have slept; then I should have been at rest,
[14] with kings and counselors of the earth
who rebuilt ruins for themselves,
[15] or with princes who had gold,
who filled their houses with silver.
[16] Or why was I not as a hidden untimely birth,
as infants that never see the light?
[17] There the wicked cease from troubling,
and there the weary are at rest.
[18] There the prisoners are at ease together;
they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.
[19] The small and the great are there,
and the slave is free from his master.
[20] "Why is light given to him that is in misery,
and life to the bitter in soul,
[21] who long for death, but it comes not,
and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
[22] who rejoice exceedingly,
and are glad, when they find the grave?
[23] Why is light given to a man whose way is hid,
whom God has hedged in?
[24] For my sighing comes as my bread,
and my groanings are poured out like water.
[25] For the thing that I fear comes upon me,
and what I dread befalls me.
[26] I am not at ease, nor am I quiet;
I have no rest; but trouble comes."

　

3 장

[1] 그 후에 욥이 입을 열어 자기의 생일을 저주하니라
[2] 욥이 말을 내어 가로되
[3] 나의 난 날이 멸망하였었더라면,남아를 배었다 하던 그 밤도 그러하였었더라면,
[4] 그 날이 캄캄하였었더라면,하나님이 위에서 돌아보지 마셨더라면, 빛도 그 날을 비취지 말았었더라면,
[5] 유암과 사망의 그늘이 그 날을 자기 것이라 주장하였었더라면,구름이 그 위에 덮였었더라면,낮을 캄캄하게 하는 것이 그날을 두렵게 하였었더라면
[6] 그 밤이 심한 어두움에 잡혔었더라면,해의 날 수 가운데 기쁨이 되지 말았었더라면,달의 수에 들지 말았었더라면,
[7] 그 밤이 적막하였었더라면,그 가운데서 즐거운 소리가 일어나지 말았었더라면,
[8] 날을 저주하는 자 곧 큰 악어를 격동시키기에 익숙한 자가 그 밤을 저주하였었더라면,
[9] 그 밤에 새벽별들이 어두웠었더라면,그 밤이 광명을 바랄지라도 얻지 못하며 동틈을 보지 못하였었더라면 좋았을 것을,
[10] 이는 내 모태의 문을 닫지 아니하였고 내 눈으로 환난을 보지 않도록 하지 아니하였음이로구나
[11] 어찌하여 내가 태에서 죽어 나오지 아니하였었던가 어찌하여 내 어미가 낳을 때에 내가 숨지지 아니하였던가
[12] 어찌하여 무릎이 나를 받았던가 어찌하여 유방이 나로 빨게 하였던가
[13] 그렇지 아니하였던들 이제는 내가 평안히 누워서 자고 쉬었을 것이니
[14] 자기를 위하여 거친 터를 수축한 세상 임금들과 의사들과 함께 있었을 것이요
[15] 혹시 금을 가지며 은으로 집에 채운 목백들과 함께 있었을 것이며
[16] 또 부지중에 낙태한 아이 같아서 세상에 있지 않았겠고 빛을 보지못한 아이들 같았었을 것이라
[17] 거기서는 악한 자가 소요를 그치며 거기서는 곤비한 자가 평강을 얻으며
[18] 거기서는 갇힌 자가 다 함께 평안히 있어 감독자의 소리를 듣지 아니하며
[19] 거기서는 작은 자나 큰 자나 일반으로 있고 종이 상전에게서 놓이느니라
[20] 어찌하여 곤고한 자에게 빛을 주셨으며 마음이 번뇌한 자에게 생명을 주셨는고
[21] 이러한 자는 죽기를 바라도 오지 아니하니 그것을 구하기를 땅을 파고 숨긴 보배를 찾음보다 더하다가
[22] 무덤을 찾아 얻으면 심히 기뻐하고 즐거워하나니
[23] 하나님에게 둘러싸여 길이 아득한 사람에게 어찌하여 빛을 주셨는고
[24] 나는 먹기 전에 탄식이 나며 나의 앓는 소리는 물이 쏟아지는 것같구나
[25] 나의 두려워하는 그것이 내게 임하고 나의 무서워하는 그것이 내몸에 미쳤구나
[26] 평강도 없고 안온도 없고 안식도 없고 고난만 임하였구나

　

Job.4

[1] Then Eli'phaz the Te'manite answered:
[2] "If one ventures a word with you, will you be offended?
Yet who can keep from speaking?
[3] Behold, you have instructed many,
and you have strengthened the weak hands.
[4] Your words have upheld him who was stumbling,
and you have made firm the feeble knees.
[5] But now it has come to you, and you are impatient;
it touches you, and you are dismayed.
[6] Is not your fear of God your confidence,
and the integrity of your ways your hope?
[7] "Think now, who that was innocent ever perished?
Or where were the upright cut off?
[8] As I have seen, those who plow iniquity
and sow trouble reap the same.
[9] By the breath of God they perish,
and by the blast of his anger they are consumed.
[10] The roar of the lion, the voice of the fierce lion,
the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
[11] The strong lion perishes for lack of prey,
and the whelps of the lioness are scattered.
[12] "Now a word was brought to me stealthily,
my ear received the whisper of it.
[13] Amid thoughts from visions of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men,
[14] dread came upon me, and trembling,
which made all my bones shake.
[15] A spirit glided past my face;
the hair of my flesh stood up.
[16] It stood still,
but I could not discern its appearance.
A form was before my eyes;
there was silence, then I heard a voice:
[17] `Can mortal man be righteous before God?
Can a man be pure before his Maker?
[18] Even in his servants he puts no trust,
and his angels he charges with error;
[19] how much more those who dwell in houses of clay,
whose foundation is in the dust,
who are crushed before the moth.
[20] Between morning and evening they are destroyed;
they perish for ever without any regarding it.
[21] If their tent-cord is plucked up within them,
do they not die, and that without wisdom?'

　

4 장

[1] 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 가로되
[2] 누가 네게 말하면 네가 염증이 나겠느냐 날지라도 누가 참고 말 하지 아니하겠느냐
[3] 전에 네가 여러 사람을 교훈하였고 손이 늘어진 자면 강하게 하였고
[4] 넘어져 가는 자를 말로 붙들어 주었고 무릎이 약한 자를 강하게 하였거늘
[5] 이제 이 일이 네게 임하매 네가 답답하여 하고 이 일이 네게 당하매 네가 놀라는구나
[6] 네 의뢰가 경외함에 있지 아니하냐 네 소망이 네 행위를 완전히 함에 있지 아니하냐
[7] 생각하여 보라 죄없이 망한 자가 누구인가 정직한 자의 끊어짐이 어디 있는가
[8] 내가 보건대 악을 밭갈고 독을 뿌리는 자는 그대로 거두나니
[9] 다 하나님의 입기운에 멸망하고 그 콧김에 사라지느니라
[10] 사자의 우는 소리와 사나운 사자의 목소리가 그치고 젊은 사자의 이가 부러지며
[11] 늙은 사자는 움킨 것이 없어 죽고 암사자의 새끼는 흩어지느니라
[12] 무슨 말씀이 내게 가만히 임하고 그 가는 소리가 내 귀에 들렸었나니
[13] 곧 사람이 깊이 잠들 때쯤 하여서니라 내가 그 밤의 이상으로 하여 생각이 번거로울 때에
[14] 두려움과 떨림이 내게 이르러서 모든 골절이 흔들렸었느니라
[15] 그 때에 영이 내 앞으로 지나매 내 몸에 털이 주뼛하였었느니라
[16] 그 영이 서는데 그 형상을 분변치는 못하여도 오직 한 형상이 내 눈앞에 있었느니라 그 때 내가 종용한 중에 목소리를 들으니 이르기를
[17] 인생이 어찌 하나님보다 의롭겠느냐 사람이 어찌 그 창조하신 이보다 성결하겠느냐
[18] 하나님은 그 종이라도 오히려 믿지 아니하시며 그 사자라도 미련하다 하시나니
[19] 하물며 흙 집에 살며 티끌로 터를 삼고 하루살이에게라도 눌려 죽을 자이겠느냐
[20] 조석 사이에 멸한바 되며 영원히 망하되 생각하는 자가 없으리라
[21] 장막 줄을 그들에게서 뽑지 아니하겠느냐 그들이 죽나니 지혜가 없느니라

　

Job.5

[1] "Call now; is there any one who will answer you?
To which of the holy ones will you turn?
[2] Surely vexation kills the fool,
and jealousy slays the simple.
[3] I have seen the fool taking root,
but suddenly I cursed his dwelling.
[4] His sons are far from safety,
they are crushed in the gate,
and there is no one to deliver them.
[5] His harvest the hungry eat,
and he takes it even out of thorns;
and the thirsty pant after his wealth.
[6] For affliction does not come from the dust,
nor does trouble sprout from the ground;
[7] but man is born to trouble
as the sparks fly upward.
[8] "As for me, I would seek God,
and to God would I commit my cause;
[9] who does great things and unsearchable,
marvelous things without number:
[10] he gives rain upon the earth
and sends waters upon the fields;
[11] he sets on high those who are lowly,
and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
[12] He frustrates the devices of the crafty,
so that their hands achieve no success.
[13] He takes the wise in their own craftiness;
and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.
[14] They meet with darkness in the daytime,
and grope at noonday as in the night.
[15] But he saves the fatherless from their mouth,
the needy from the hand of the mighty.
[16] So the poor have hope,
and injustice shuts her mouth.
[17] "Behold, happy is the man whom God reproves;
therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
[18] For he wounds, but he binds up;
he smites, but his hands heal.
[19] He will deliver you from six troubles;
in seven there shall no evil touch you.
[20] In famine he will redeem you from death,
and in war from the power of the sword.
[21] You shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue,
and shall not fear destruction when it comes.
[22] At destruction and famine you shall laugh,
and shall not fear the beasts of the earth.
[23] For you shall be in league with the stones of the field,
and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
[24] You shall know that your tent is safe,
and you shall inspect your fold and miss nothing.
[25] You shall know also that your descendants shall be many,
and your offspring as the grass of the earth.
[26] You shall come to your grave in ripe old age,
as a shock of grain comes up to the threshing floor in its season.
[27] Lo, this we have searched out; it is true.
Hear, and know it for your good."

　

5 장

[1] 부르짖어 보아라 네게 응답할 자가 있겠느냐 거룩한 자 중에 네가 누구에게로 향하겠느냐
[2] 분노가 미련한 자를 죽이고 시기가 어리석은 자를 멸하느니라
[3] 내가 미련한 자의 뿌리 박는 것을 보고 그 집을 당장에 저주하였노라
[4] 그 자식들은 평안한 데서 멀리 떠나고 성문에서 눌리나 구하는 자가 없으며
[5] 그 추수한 것은 주린 자가 먹되 가시나무 가운데 있는 것도 빼앗으며 올무가 그의 재산을 향하여 입을 벌리느니라
[6] 재앙은 티끌에서 일어나는 것이 아니요 고난은 흙에서 나는 것이 아니라
[7] 인생은 고난을 위하여 났나니 불티가 위로 날음 같으니라
[8] 나 같으면 하나님께 구하고 내일을 하나님께 의탁하리라
[9] 하나님은 크고 측량할 수 없는 일을 행하시며 기이한 일을 셀 수 없이 행하시나니
[10] 비를 땅에 내리시고 물을 밭에 보내시며
[11] 낮은 자를 높이 드시고 슬퍼하는 자를 흥기시켜 안전한 곳에 있게 하시느니라
[12] 하나님은 궤휼한 자의 계교를 파하사 그 손으로 하는 일을 이루지 못하게 하시며
[13] 간교한 자로 자기 궤휼에 빠지게 하시며 사특한 자의 계교를 패하게 하시며
[14] 그들은 낮에도 캄캄함을 만나고 대낮에도 더듬기를 밤과 같이 하느니라
[15] 하나님은 곤비한 자를 그들의 입의 칼에서,강한 자의 손에서 면하게 하시나니
[16] 그러므로 가난한 자가 소망이 있고 불의가 스스로 입을 막느니라
[17] 볼지어다 하나님께 징계받는 자에게는 복이 있나니 그런즉 너는 전능자의 경책을 업신여기지 말지니라
[18] 하나님은 아프게 하시다가 싸매시며 상하게 하시다가 그 손으로 고치시나니
[19] 여섯가지 환난에서 너를 구원하시며 일곱가지 환난이라도 그 재앙이 네게 미치지 않게 하시며
[20] 기근 때에 죽음에서,전쟁 때에 칼 권세에서 너를 구속하실 터인 즉
[21] 네가 혀의 채찍을 피하여 숨을 수가 있고 멸망이 올 때에도 두려워 아니할 것이라
[22] 네가 멸망과 기근을 비웃으며 들짐승을 두려워 아니할 것은
[23] 밭에 돌이 너와 언약을 맺겠고 들짐승이 너와 화친할 것임이라
[24] 네가 네 장막의 평안함을 알고 네 우리를 살펴도 잃은 것이 없을것이며
[25] 네 자손이 많아지며 네 후예가 땅에 풀 같을 줄을 네가 알것이라
[26] 네가 장수하다가 무덤에 이르리니 곡식단이 그 기한에 운반되어 올리움 같으리라
[27] 볼지어다 우리의 연구한 바가 이같으니 너는 듣고 네게 유익된 줄 알지니라

　

Job.6

[1] Then Job answered:
[2] "O that my vexation were weighed,
and all my calamity laid in the balances!
[3] For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea;
therefore my words have been rash.
[4] For the arrows of the Almighty are in me;
my spirit drinks their poison;
the terrors of God are arrayed against me.
[5] Does the wild ass bray when he has grass,
or the ox low over his fodder?
[6] Can that which is tasteless be eaten without salt,
or is there any taste in the slime of the purslane?
[7] My appetite refuses to touch them;
they are as food that is loathsome to me.
[8] "O that I might have my request,
and that God would grant my desire;
[9] that it would please God to crush me,
that he would let loose his hand and cut me off!
[10] This would be my consolation;
I would even exult in pain unsparing;
for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
[11] What is my strength, that I should wait?
And what is my end, that I should be patient?
[12] Is my strength the strength of stones,
or is my flesh bronze?
[13] In truth I have no help in me,
and any resource is driven from me.
[14] "He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
[15] My brethren are treacherous as a torrent-bed,
as freshets that pass away,
[16] which are dark with ice,
and where the snow hides itself.
[17] In time of heat they disappear;
when it is hot, they vanish from their place.
[18] The caravans turn aside from their course;
they go up into the waste, and perish.
[19] The caravans of Tema look,
the travelers of Sheba hope.
[20] They are disappointed because they were confident;
they come thither and are confounded.
[21] Such you have now become to me;
you see my calamity, and are afraid.
[22] Have I said, `Make me a gift'?
Or, `From your wealth offer a bribe for me'?
[23] Or, `Deliver me from the adversary's hand'?
Or, `Ransom me from the hand of oppressors'?
[24] "Teach me, and I will be silent;
make me understand how I have erred.
[25] How forceful are honest words!
But what does reproof from you reprove?
[26] Do you think that you can reprove words,
when the speech of a despairing man is wind?
[27] You would even cast lots over the fatherless,
and bargain over your friend.
[28] "But now, be pleased to look at me;
for I will not lie to your face.
[29] Turn, I pray, let no wrong be done.
Turn now, my vindication is at stake.
[30] Is there any wrong on my tongue?
Cannot my taste discern calamity?

　

6 장

[1] 욥이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 나의 분한을 달아 보며 나의 모든 재앙을 저울에 둘 수 있으면
[3] 바다 모래보다도 무거울 것이라 그럼으로 하여 나의 말이 경솔 하였구나
[4] 전능자의 살이 내 몸에 박히매 나의 영이 그 독을 마셨나니 하나님의 두려움이 나를 엄습하여 치는구나
[5] 들 나귀가 풀이 있으면 어찌 울겠으며 소가 꼴이 있으면 어찌 울겠느냐
[6] 싱거운 것이 소금 없이 먹히겠느냐 닭의 알 흰자위가 맛이 있겠느냐
[7] 이런 것을 만지기도 내 마음이 싫어하나니 못된 식물 같이 여김 이니라
[8] 하나님이 나의 구하는 것을 얻게 하시며 나의 사모하는 것 주시기를 내가 원하나니
[9] 이는 곧 나를 멸하시기를 기뻐하사 그 손을 들어 나를 끊으실 것이라
[10] 그러할지라도 내가 오히려 위로를 받고 무정한 고통 가운데서도 기뻐할 것은 내가 거룩하신 이의 말씀을 거역지 아니하였음이니라
[11] 내가 무슨 기력이 있관대 기다리겠느냐 내 마지막이 어떠하겠관대 오히려 참겠느냐
[12] 나의 기력이 어찌 돌의 기력이겠느냐 나의 살이 어찌 놋쇠겠느냐
[13] 나의 도움이 내 속에 없지 아니하냐 나의 지혜가 내게서 쫓겨나지 아니하였느냐
[14] 피곤한 자 곧 전능자 경외하는 일을 폐한 자를 그 벗이 불쌍히 여길 것이어늘
[15] 나의 형제는 내게 성실치 아니함이 시냇물의 마름 같고 개울의 잦음 같구나
[16] 얼음이 녹으면 물이 검어지며 눈이 그 속에 감취었을지라도
[17] 따뜻하면 마르고 더우면 그 자리에서 아주 없어지나니
[18] 떼를 지은 객들이 시냇가로 다니다가 돌이켜 광야로 가서 죽고
[19] 데마의 떼들이 그것을 바라보고 스바의 행인들도 그것을 사모하다가
[20] 거기 와서는 바라던 것을 부끄리고 낙심하느니라
[21] 너희도 허망한 자라 너희가 두려운 일을 본즉 겁내는구나
[22] 내가 언제 너희에게 나를 공급하라 하더냐 언제 나를 위하여 너희 재물로 예물을 달라더냐
[23] 내가 언제 말하기를 대적의 손에서 나를 구원하라 하더냐 포악한자의 손에서 나를 구속하라 하더냐
[24] 내게 가르쳐서 나의 허물된 것을 깨닫게 하라 내가 잠잠하리라
[25] 옳은 말은 어찌 그리 유력한지,그렇지만 너희의 책망은 무엇을 책망함이뇨
[26] 너희가 말을 책망하려느냐 소망이 끊어진 자의 말은 바람 같으니라
[27] 너희는 고아를 제비 뽑으며 너희 벗을 매매할 자로구나
[28] 이제 너희가 나를 향하여 보기를 원하노라 내가 너희를 대면하여 결코 거짓말하지 아니하리라
[29] 너희는 돌이켜 불의한 것이 없게 하기를 원하노라 너희는 돌이키라 내 일이 의로우니라
[30] 내 혀에 어찌 불의한 것이 있으랴 내 미각이 어찌 궤휼을 분변치못하랴

　

Job.7

[1] "Has not man a hard service upon earth,
and are not his days like the days of a hireling?
[2] Like a slave who longs for the shadow,
and like a hireling who looks for his wages,
[3] so I am allotted months of emptiness,
and nights of misery are apportioned to me.
[4] When I lie down I say, `When shall I arise?'
But the night is long,
and I am full of tossing till the dawn.
[5] My flesh is clothed with worms and dirt;
my skin hardens, then breaks out afresh.
[6] My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle,
and come to their end without hope.
[7] "Remember that my life is a breath;
my eye will never again see good.
[8] The eye of him who sees me will behold me no more;
while thy eyes are upon me, I shall be gone.
[9] As the cloud fades and vanishes,
so he who goes down to Sheol does not come up;
[10] he returns no more to his house,
nor does his place know him any more.
[11] "Therefore I will not restrain my mouth;
I will speak in the anguish of my spirit;
I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
[12] Am I the sea, or a sea monster,
that thou settest a guard over me?
[13] When I say, `My bed will comfort me,
my couch will ease my complaint,'
[14] then thou dost scare me with dreams
and terrify me with visions,
[15] so that I would choose strangling
and death rather than my bones.
[16] I loathe my life; I would not live for ever.
Let me alone, for my days are a breath.
[17] What is man, that thou dost make so much of him,
and that thou dost set thy mind upon him,
[18] dost visit him every morning,
and test him every moment?
[19] How long wilt thou not look away from me,
nor let me alone till I swallow my spittle?
[20] If I sin, what do I do to thee, thou watcher of men?
Why hast thou made me thy mark?
Why have I become a burden to thee?
[21] Why dost thou not pardon my transgression
and take away my iniquity?
For now I shall lie in the earth;
thou wilt seek me, but I shall not be."

　

7 장

[1] 세상에 있는 인생에게 전쟁이 있지 아니하냐 그 날이 품군의 날과 같지 아니하냐
[2] 종은 저물기를 심히 기다리고 품군은 그 삯을 바라나니
[3] 이와 같이 내가 여러 달째 곤고를 받으니 수고로운 밤이 내게 작정되었구나
[4] 내가 누울 때면 말하기를 언제나 일어날꼬 언제나 밤이 갈꼬 하며 새벽까지 이리 뒤척 저리 뒤척 하는구나
[5] 내 살에는 구더기와 흙 조각이 의복처럼 입혔고 내 가죽은 합창 되었다가 터지는구나
[6] 나의 날은 베틀의 북보다 빠르니 소망없이 보내는구나
[7] 내 생명이 한 호흡 같음을 생각하옵소서 나의 눈이 다시 복된 것을 보지 못하리이다
[8] 나를 본 자의 눈이 다시는 나를 보지 못할 것이고 주의 눈이 나를 향하실지라도 내가 있지 아니하리이다
[9] 구름이 사라져 없어짐 같이 음부로 내려가는 자는 다시 올라오지 못할 것이오니
[10] 그는 다시 자기 집으로 돌아가지 못하겠고 자기 처소도 다시 그를 알지 못하리이다
[11] 그런즉 내가 내 입을 금하지 아니하고 내 마음의 아픔을 인하여 말하며 내 영혼의 괴로움을 인하여 원망하리이다
[12] 내가 바다니이까 용이니이까 주께서 어찌하여 나를 지키시나이까
[13] 혹시 내가 말하기를 내 자리가 나를 위로하고 내 침상이 내 수심을 풀리라 할 때에
[14] 주께서 꿈으로 나를 놀래시고 이상으로 나를 두렵게 하시나이다
[15] 이러므로 내 마음에 숨이 막히기를 원하오니 뼈보다도 죽는 것이 나으니이다
[16] 내가 생명을 싫어하고 항상 살기를 원치 아니하오니 나를 놓으소서 내 날은 헛것이니이다
[17] 사람이 무엇이관대 주께서 크게 여기사 그에게 마음을 두시고
[18] 아침마다 권징하시며 분초마다 시험하시나이까
[19] 주께서 내게서 눈을 돌이키지 아니하시며 나의 침 삼킬 동안도 나를 놓지 아니하시기를 어느 때까지 하시리이까
[20] 사람을 감찰하시는 자여 내가 범죄하였은들 주께 무슨 해가 되오리이까 어찌하여 나로 과녁을 삼으셔서 스스로 무거운 짐이 되게 하셨나이까
[21] 주께서 어찌하여 내 허물을 사하여 주지 아니하시며 내 죄악을 제하여 버리지 아니 하시나이까 내가 이제 흙에 누우리니 주께서 나를 부지런히 찾으실지라도 내가 있지 아니하리이다

　

Job.8

[1] Then Bildad the Shuhite answered:
[2] "How long will you say these things,
and the words of your mouth be a great wind?
[3] Does God pervert justice?
Or does the Almighty pervert the right?
[4] If your children have sinned against him,
he has delivered them into the power of their transgression.
[5] If you will seek God
and make supplication to the Almighty,
[6] if you are pure and upright,
surely then he will rouse himself for you
and reward you with a rightful habitation.
[7] And though your beginning was small,
your latter days will be very great.
[8] "For inquire, I pray you, of bygone ages,
and consider what the fathers have found;
[9] for we are but of yesterday, and know nothing,
for our days on earth are a shadow.
[10] Will they not teach you, and tell you,
and utter words out of their understanding?
[11] "Can papyrus grow where there is no marsh?
Can reeds flourish where there is no water?
[12] While yet in flower and not cut down,
they wither before any other plant.
[13] Such are the paths of all who forget God;
the hope of the godless man shall perish.
[14] His confidence breaks in sunder,
and his trust is a spider's web.
[15] He leans against his house, but it does not stand;
he lays hold of it, but it does not endure.
[16] He thrives before the sun,
and his shoots spread over his garden.
[17] His roots twine about the stoneheap;
he lives among the rocks.
[18] If he is destroyed from his place,
then it will deny him, saying, `I have never seen you.'
[19] Behold, this is the joy of his way;
and out of the earth others will spring.
[20] "Behold, God will not reject a blameless man,
nor take the hand of evildoers.
[21] He will yet fill your mouth with laughter,
and your lips with shouting.
[22] Those who hate you will be clothed with shame,
and the tent of the wicked will be no more."

　

8 장

[1] 수아 사람 빌닷이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 네가 어느 때까지 이런 말을 하겠으며 어느 때까지 네 입의 말이 광풍과 같겠는가
[3] 하나님이 어찌 심판을 굽게 하시겠으며 전능하신이가 어찌 공의를 굽게 하시겠는가
[4] 네 자녀들이 주께 득죄하였으므로 주께서 그들을 그 죄에 붙이셨나니
[5] 네가 만일 하나님을 부지런히 구하며 전능하신 이에게 빌고
[6] 또 청결하고 정직하면 정녕 너를 돌아보시고 네 의로운 집으로 형통하게 하실 것이라
[7] 네 시작은 미약하였으나 네 나중은 심히 창대하리라
[8] 청컨대 너는 옛시대 사람에게 물으며 열조의 터득한 일을 배울지어다
[9]
[ ] (우리는 어제부터 있었을 뿐이라 지식이 망매하니 세상에 있는 날이 그림자와 같으니라)
[10] 그들이 네게 가르쳐 이르지 아니하겠느냐 그 마음에서 나는 말을 발하지 아니하겠느냐
[11] 왕골이 진펄이 아니고 나겠으며 갈대가 물 없이 자라겠느냐
[12] 이런 것은 푸르러도 아직 벨 때 되기 전에 다른 풀보다 일찌기 마르느니라
[13] 하나님을 잊어버리는 자의 길은 다 이와 같고 사곡한 자의 소망은 없어지리니
[14] 그 믿는 것이 끊어지고 그 의지하는 것이 거미줄 같은즉
[15] 그 집을 의지할지라도 집이 서지 못하고 굳게 잡아도 집이 보존 되지 못하리라
[16] 식물이 일광을 받고 푸르러서 그 가지가 동산에 벋어가며
[17] 그 뿌리가 돌 무더기에 서리어서 돌 가운데로 들어 갔을지라도
[18] 그 곳에서 뽑히면 그 자리도 모르는 체하고 이르기를 내가 너를 보지 못하였다 하리니
[19] 그 길의 희락은 이와 같고 그 후에 다른 것이 흙에서 나리라
[20] 하나님은 순전한 사람을 버리지 아니하시고 악한 자를 붙들어 주지 아니하신즉
[21] 웃음으로 네 입에,즐거운 소리로 네 입술에 채우시리니
[22] 너를 미워하는 자는 부끄러움을 입을 것이라 악인의 장막은 없어지리라

[1] Then Job answered:
[2] "Truly I know that it is so:
But how can a man be just before God?
[3] If one wished to contend with him,
one could not answer him once in a thousand times.
[4] He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength
-- who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded? --
[5] he who removes mountains, and they know it not,
when he overturns them in his anger;
[6] who shakes the earth out of its place,
and its pillars tremble;
[7] who commands the sun, and it does not rise;
who seals up the stars;
[8] who alone stretched out the heavens,
and trampled the waves of the sea;
[9] who made the Bear and Orion,
the Plei'ades and the chambers of the south;
[10] who does great things beyond understanding,
and marvelous things without number.
[11] Lo, he passes by me, and I see him not;
he moves on, but I do not perceive him.
[12] Behold, he snatches away; who can hinder him?
Who will say to him, `What doest thou'?
[13] "God will not turn back his anger;
beneath him bowed the helpers of Rahab.
[14] How then can I answer him,
choosing my words with him?
[15] Though I am innocent, I cannot answer him;
I must appeal for mercy to my accuser.
[16] If I summoned him and he answered me,
I would not believe that he was listening to my voice.
[17] For he crushes me with a tempest,
and multiplies my wounds without cause;
[18] he will not let me get my breath,
but fills me with bitterness.
[19] If it is a contest of strength, behold him!
If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?
[20] Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me;
though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
[21] I am blameless; I regard not myself;
I loathe my life.
[22] It is all one; therefore I say,
he destroys both the blameless and the wicked.
[23] When disaster brings sudden death,
he mocks at the calamity of the innocent.
[24] The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;
he covers the faces of its judges --
if it is not he, who then is it?
[25] "My days are swifter than a runner;
they flee away, they see no good.
[26] They go by like skiffs of reed,
like an eagle swooping on the prey.
[27] If I say, `I will forget my complaint,
I will put off my sad countenance, and be of good cheer,'
[28] I become afraid of all my suffering,
for I know thou wilt not hold me innocent.
[29] I shall be condemned;
why then do I labor in vain?
[30] If I wash myself with snow,
and cleanse my hands with lye,
[31] yet thou wilt plunge me into a pit,
and my own clothes will abhor me.
[32] For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him,
that we should come to trial together.
[33] There is no umpire between us,
who might lay his hand upon us both.
[34] Let him take his rod away from me,
and let not dread of him terrify me.
[35] Then I would speak without fear of him,
for I am not so in myself.

[1] 욥이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 내가 진실로 그 일이 그런 줄을 알거니와 인생이 어찌 하나님 앞에 의로우랴
[3] 사람이 하나님과 쟁변하려 할지라도 천 마디에 한 마디도 대답하지 못하리라
[4] 하나님은 마음이 지혜로우시고 힘이 강하시니 스스로 강퍅히 하여 그를 거역하고 형통한 자가 누구이랴
[5] 그가 진노하심으로 산을 무너뜨리시며 옮기실지라도 산이 깨닫지 못하며
[6] 그가 땅을 움직여 그 자리에서 미신즉 그 기둥이 흔들리며
[7] 그가 해를 명하여 뜨지 못하게 하시며 별들을 봉하시며
[8] 그가 홀로 하늘을 펴시며 바다 물결을 밟으시며
[9] 북두성과 삼성과 묘성과 남방의 밀실을 만드셨으며
[10] 측량할 수 없는 큰 일을,셀 수 없는 기이한 일을 행하시느니라
[11] 그가 내 앞으로 지나시나 내가 보지 못하며 그가 내 앞에서 나아가시나 내가 깨닫지 못하느니라
[12] 하나님이 빼앗으시면 누가 막을 수 있으며 무엇을 하시나이까 누가 물을 수 있으랴
[13] 하나님이 진노를 돌이키지 아니하시나니 라합을 돕는 자들이 그 아래 굴복하겠거든
[14] 하물며 내가 감히 대답하겠으며 무슨 말을 택하여 더불어 변론하랴
[15] 가령 내가 의로울지라도 감히 대답하지 못하고 나를 심판하실 그에게 간구하였을 뿐이며
[16] 가령 내가 그를 부르므로 그가 내게 대답하셨을지라도 내 음성을 들으셨다고는 내가 믿지 아니하리라
[17] 그가 폭풍으로 나를 꺾으시고 까닭없이 내 상처를 많게 하시며
[18] 나로 숨을 쉬지 못하게 하시며 괴로움으로 내게 채우시는구나
[19] 힘으로 말하면 그가 강하시고 심판으로 말하면 누가 그를 호출 하겠느냐
[20] 가령 내가 의로울지라도 내 입이 나를 정죄하리니 가령 내가 순전할지라도 나의 패괴함을 증거하리라
[21] 나는 순전하다마는 내가 나를 돌아보지 아니하고 내 생명을 천히 여기는구나
[22] 일이 다 일반이라 그러므로 나는 말하기를 하나님이 순전한 자나 악한 자나 멸망시키신다 하나니
[23] 홀연히 재앙이 내려 도륙될 때에 무죄한 자의 고난을 그가 비웃으시리라
[24] 세상이 악인의 손에 붙이웠고 재판관의 얼굴도 가리워졌나니 그렇게 되게 한 이가 그가 아니시면 누구이뇨
[25] 나의 날이 체부보다 빠르니 달려가므로 복을 볼 수 없구나
[26] 그 지나가는 것이 빠른 배 같고 움킬 것에 날아 내리는 독수리와도 같구나
[27] 가령 내가 말하기를 내 원통함을 잊고 얼굴 빛을 고쳐 즐거운 모양을 하자 할지라도
[28] 오히려 내 모든 고통을 두려워하오니 주께서 나를 무죄히 여기지 않으실 줄을 아나이다
[29] 내가 정죄하심을 입을진대 어찌 헛되이 수고하리이까
[30] 내가 눈녹은 물로 몸을 씻고 잿물로 손을 깨끗이 할지라도
[31] 주께서 나를 개천에 빠지게 하시리니 내 옷이라도 나를 싫어하리이다
[32] 하나님은 나처럼 사람이 아니신즉 내가 그에게 대답함도 불가하고 대질하여 재판할 수도 없고
[33] 양척 사이에 손을 얹을 판결자도 없구나
[34] 주께서 그 막대기를 내게서 떠나게 하시고 그 위엄으로 나를 두렵게 하지 아니 하시기를 원하노라
[35] 그리하시면 내가 두려움 없이 말하리라 나는 본래 그런 자가 아니니라

　

Job.10

[1] "I loathe my life;
I will give free utterance to my complaint;
I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
[2] I will say to God, Do not condemn me;
let me know why thou dost contend against me.
[3] Does it seem good to thee to oppress,
to despise the work of thy hands
and favor the designs of the wicked?
[4] Hast thou eyes of flesh?
Dost thou see as man sees?
[5] Are thy days as the days of man,
or thy years as man's years,
[6] that thou dost seek out my iniquity
and search for my sin,
[7] although thou knowest that I am not guilty,
and there is none to deliver out of thy hand?
[8] Thy hands fashioned and made me;
and now thou dost turn about and destroy me.
[9] Remember that thou hast made me of clay;
and wilt thou turn me to dust again?
[10] Didst thou not pour me out like milk
and curdle me like cheese?
[11] Thou didst clothe me with skin and flesh,
and knit me together with bones and sinews.
[12] Thou hast granted me life and steadfast love;
and thy care has preserved my spirit.
[13] Yet these things thou didst hide in thy heart;
I know that this was thy purpose.
[14] If I sin, thou dost mark me,
and dost not acquit me of my iniquity.
[15] If I am wicked, woe to me!
If I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head,
for I am filled with disgrace
and look upon my affliction.
[16] And if I lift myself up, thou dost hunt me like a lion,
and again work wonders against me;
[17] thou dost renew thy witnesses against me,
and increase thy vexation toward me;
thou dost bring fresh hosts against me.
[18] "Why didst thou bring me forth from the womb?
Would that I had died before any eye had seen me,
[19] and were as though I had not been,
carried from the womb to the grave.
[20] Are not the days of my life few?
Let me alone, that I may find a little comfort
[21] before I go whence I shall not return,
to the land of gloom and deep darkness,
[22] the land of gloom and chaos,
where light is as darkness."

　

10 장

[1] 내 영혼이 살기에 곤비하니 내 원통함을 발설하고 내 마음의 괴로운대로 말하리라
[2] 내가 하나님께 아뢰오리니 나를 정죄하지 마옵시고 무슨 연고로 나로 더불어 쟁변하시는지 나로 알게 하옵소서
[3] 주께서 주의 손으로 지으신 것을 학대하시며 멸시하시고 악인의 꾀에 빛을 비취시기를 선히 여기시나이까
[4] 주의 눈이 육신의 눈이니이까 주께서 사람의 보는 것처럼 보시리이까
[5] 주의 날이 어찌 인생의 날과 같으며 주의 해가 어찌 인생의 날과 같기로
[6] 나의 허물을 찾으시며 나의 죄를 사실하시나이까
[7] 주께서는 내가 악하지 않은 줄을 아시나이다 주의 손에서 나를 벗어나게 할 자도 없나이다
[8] 주의 손으로 나를 만드사 백체를 이루셨거늘 이제 나를 멸하시나이다
[9] 기억하옵소서 주께서 내 몸 지으시기를 흙을 뭉치듯 하셨거늘 다시 나를 티끌로 돌려 보내려 하시나이까
[10] 주께서 나를 젖과 같이 쏟으셨으며 엉긴 것처럼 엉기게 하지 아니 하셨나이까
[11] 가죽과 살로 내게 입히시며 뼈와 힘줄로 나를 뭉치시고
[12] 생명과 은혜를 내게 주시고 권고하심으로 내 영을 지키셨나이다
[13] 그러한데 주께서 이것들을 마음에 품으셨나이다 이 뜻이 주께 있은 줄을 내가 아나이다
[14] 내가 범죄하면 주께서 나를 죄인으로 인정하시고 내 죄악을 사유치 아니 하시나이다
[15] 내가 악하면 화가 있을 것이오며 내가 의로울지라도 머리를 들지못하올 것은 내 속에 부끄러움이 가득하고 내 환난을 목도함이니이다
[16] 내가 머리를 높이 들면 주께서 사자처럼 나를 사랑하시며 내게 주의 기이한 능력을 다시 나타내시나이다
[17] 주께서 자주자주 증거하는 자를 갈마들여 나를 치시며 나를 향하여 진노를 더하시니 군대가 갈마들어 치는 것 같으니이다
[18] 주께서 나를 태에서 나오게 하셨음은 어찜이니이까 그렇지 아니 하였더면,내가 기운이 끊어져 아무 눈에도 보이지 아니하였을 것이라
[19] 있어도 없던것 같이 되어서 태에서 바로 무덤으로 옮겼으리이다
[20] 내 날은 적지 아니하니이까 그런즉 그치시고 나를 버려두사 저으기 평안하게 하옵시되
[21] 내가 돌아오지 못할 땅 곧 어둡고 죽음의 그늘진 땅으로 가기 전에 그리하옵소서
[22] 이 땅은 어두워서 흑암 같고 죽음의 그늘이 져서 아무 구별이 없고 광명도 흑암 같으니이다

　

Job.11

[1] Then Zophar the Na'amathite answered:
[2] "Should a multitude of words go unanswered,
and a man full of talk be vindicated?
[3] Should your babble silence men,
and when you mock, shall no one shame you?
[4] For you say, `My doctrine is pure,
and I am clean in God's eyes.'
[5] But oh, that God would speak,
and open his lips to you,
[6] and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom!
For he is manifold in understanding.
Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves.
[7] "Can you find out the deep things of God?
Can you find out the limit of the Almighty?
[8] It is higher than heaven -- what can you do?
Deeper than Sheol -- what can you know?
[9] Its measure is longer than the earth,
and broader than the sea.
[10] If he passes through, and imprisons,
and calls to judgment, who can hinder him?
[11] For he knows worthless men;
when he sees iniquity, will he not consider it?
[12] But a stupid man will get understanding,
when a wild ass's colt is born a man.
[13] "If you set your heart aright,
you will stretch out your hands toward him.
[14] If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away,
and let not wickedness dwell in your tents.
[15] Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish;
you will be secure, and will not fear.
[16] You will forget your misery;
you will remember it as waters that have passed away.
[17] And your life will be brighter than the noonday;
its darkness will be like the morning.
[18] And you will have confidence, because there is hope;
you will be protected and take your rest in safety.
[19] You will lie down, and none will make you afraid;
many will entreat your favor.
[20] But the eyes of the wicked will fail;
all way of escape will be lost to them,
and their hope is to breathe their last."

　

11 장

[1] 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 말이 많으니 어찌 대답이 없으랴 입이 부푼 사람이 어찌 의롭다 함을 얻겠느냐
[3] 네 자랑하는 말이 어떻게 사람으로 잠잠하게 하겠으며 네가 비웃으면 어찌 너를 부끄럽게 할 사람이 없겠느냐
[4] 네 말이 내 도는 정결하고 나는 주의 목전에 깨끗하다 하는구나
[5] 하나님은 말씀을 내시며 너를 향하여 입을 여시고
[6] 지혜의 오묘로 네게 보이시기를 원하노니 이는 그의 지식이 광대하심이라 너는 알라 하나님의 벌하심이 네 죄보다 경하니라
[7] 네가 하나님의 오묘를 어찌 능히 측량하며 전능자를 어찌 능히 온전히 알겠느냐
[8] 하늘보다 높으시니 네가 어찌 하겠으며 음부보다 깊으시니 네가 어찌 알겠느냐
[9] 그 도량은 땅보다 크고 바다보다 넓으니라
[10] 하나님이 두루 다니시며 사람을 잡아 가두시고 개정하시면 누가 능히 막을소냐
[11] 하나님은 허망한 사람을 아시나니 악한 일은 상관치 않으시는 듯하나 다 보시느니라
[12] 허망한 사람은 지각이 없나니 그 출생함이 들나귀 새끼 같으니라
[13] 만일 네가 마음을 바로 정하고 주를 향하여 손을 들 때에
[14] 네 손에 죄악이 있거든 멀리 버리라 불의로 네 장막에 거하지 못하게 하라
[15] 그리하면 네가 정녕 흠 없는 얼굴을 들게 되고 굳게 서서 두려움이 없으리니
[16] 곧 네 환난을 잊을 것이라 네가 추억할지라도 물이 흘러감 같을 것이며
[17] 네 생명의 날이 대낮보다 밝으리니 어두움이 있다 할지라도 아침과 같이 될 것이요
[18] 네가 소망이 있으므로 든든할지며 두루 살펴보고 안전히 쉬리니
[19] 네가 누워도 두렵게 할 자가 없겠고 많은 사람이 네게 첨을 드리리라
[20] 그러나 악한 자는 눈이 어두워서 도망할 곳을 찾지 못하리니 그 의 소망은 기운이 끊침이리라

　

Job.12

[1] Then Job answered:
[2] "No doubt you are the people,
and wisdom will die with you.
[3] But I have understanding as well as you;
I am not inferior to you.
Who does not know such things as these?
[4] I am a laughingstock to my friends;
I, who called upon God and he answered me,
a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock.
[5] In the thought of one who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune;
it is ready for those whose feet slip.
[6] The tents of robbers are at peace,
and those who provoke God are secure,
who bring their god in their hand.
[7] "But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
[8] or the plants of the earth, and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
[9] Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the LORD has done this?
[10] In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.
[11] Does not the ear try words
as the palate tastes food?
[12] Wisdom is with the aged,
and understanding in length of days.
[13] "With God are wisdom and might;
he has counsel and understanding.
[14] If he tears down, none can rebuild;
if he shuts a man in, none can open.
[15] If he withholds the waters, they dry up;
if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land.
[16] With him are strength and wisdom;
the deceived and the deceiver are his.
[17] He leads counselors away stripped,
and judges he makes fools.
[18] He looses the bonds of kings,
and binds a waistcloth on their loins.
[19] He leads priests away stripped,
and overthrows the mighty.
[20] He deprives of speech those who are trusted,
and takes away the discernment of the elders.
[21] He pours contempt on princes,
and looses the belt of the strong.
[22] He uncovers the deeps out of darkness,
and brings deep darkness to light.
[23] He makes nations great, and he destroys them:
he enlarges nations, and leads them away.
[24] He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth,
and makes them wander in a pathless waste.
[25] They grope in the dark without light;
and he makes them stagger like a drunken man.

[1] 욥이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 너희만 참으로 사람이로구나 너희가 죽으면 지혜도 죽겠구나
[3] 나도 너희 같이 총명이 있어 너희만 못하지 아니하니 그같은 일을 누가 알지 못하겠느냐
[4] 하나님께 불러 아뢰어 들으심을 입은 내가 이웃에게 웃음 받는 자가 되었으니 의롭고 순전한 자가 조롱거리가 되었구나
[5] 평안한 자의 마음은 재앙을 멸시하나 재앙이 실족하는 자를 기다리는구나
[6] 강도의 장막은 형통하고 하나님을 진노케 하는 자가 평안하니 하나님이 그 손에 후히 주심이니라
[7] 이제 모든 짐승에게 물어 보라 그것들이 네게 가르치리라 공중의 새에게 물어 보라 그것들이 또한 네게 고하리라
[8] 땅에게 말하라 네게 가르치리라 바다의 고기도 네게 설명하리라
[9] 이것들 중에 어느 것이 여호와의 손이 이를 행하신 줄을 알지 못하랴
[10] 생물들의 혼과 인생들의 영이 다 그의 손에 있느니라
[11] 입이 식물의 맛을 변별함 같이 귀가 말을 분변하지 아니하느냐
[12] 늙은 자에게는 지혜가 있고 장수하는 자에게는 명철이 있느니라
[13] 지혜와 권능이 하나님께 있고 모략과 명철도 그에게 속하였나니
[14] 그가 헐으신즉 다시 세울 수 없고 사람을 가두신즉 놓지 못하느니라
[15] 그가 물을 그치게 하신즉 곧 마르고 물을 내신즉 곧 땅을 뒤집나니
[16] 능력과 지혜가 그에게 있고 속은 자와 속이는 자가 다 그에게 속하였으므로
[17] 모사를 벌거벗겨 끌어가시며 재판장으로 어리석은 자가 되게 하시며
[18] 열왕의 맨 것을 풀어 그들의 허리를 동이시며
[19] 제사장들을 벌거벗겨 끌어 가시고 권력이 있는 자를 넘어뜨리시며
[20] 충성된 자의 말을 없이 하시며 늙은 자의 지식을 빼앗으시며
[21] 방백들에게 멸시를 쏟으시며 강한 자의 띠를 푸시며
[22] 어두운 가운데서 은밀한 것을 드러내시며 죽음의 그늘을 광명한 데로 나오게 하시며
[23] 만국을 커지게도 하시고 다시 멸하기도 하시며 열국으로 광대하게도 하시고 다시 사로잡히게도 하시며
[24] 만민의 두목들의 총명을 빼앗으시고 그들을 길 없는 거친 들로 유리하게 하시며
[25] 빛 없이 캄캄한 데를 더듬게 하시며 취한 사람 같이 비틀거리게 하시느니라

　

Job.13

[1] "Lo, my eye has seen all this,
my ear has heard and understood it.
[2] What you know, I also know;
I am not inferior to you.
[3] But I would speak to the Almighty,
and I desire to argue my case with God.
[4] As for you, you whitewash with lies;
worthless physicians are you all.
[5] Oh that you would keep silent,
and it would be your wisdom!
[6] Hear now my reasoning,
and listen to the pleadings of my lips.
[7] Will you speak falsely for God,
and speak deceitfully for him?
[8] Will you show partiality toward him,
will you plead the case for God?
[9] Will it be well with you when he searches you out?
Or can you deceive him, as one deceives a man?
[10] He will surely rebuke you
if in secret you show partiality.
[11] Will not his majesty terrify you,
and the dread of him fall upon you?
[12] Your maxims are proverbs of ashes,
your defenses are defenses of clay.
[13] "Let me have silence, and I will speak,
and let come on me what may.
[14] I will take my flesh in my teeth,
and put my life in my hand.
[15] Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope;
yet I will defend my ways to his face.
[16] This will be my salvation,
that a godless man shall not come before him.
[17] Listen carefully to my words,
and let my declaration be in your ears.
[18] Behold, I have prepared my case;
I know that I shall be vindicated.
[19] Who is there that will contend with me?
For then I would be silent and die.
[20] Only grant two things to me,
then I will not hide myself from thy face:
[21] withdraw thy hand far from me,
and let not dread of thee terrify me.
[22] Then call, and I will answer;
or let me speak, and do thou reply to me.
[23] How many are my iniquities and my sins?
Make me know my transgression and my sin.
[24] Why dost thou hide thy face,
and count me as thy enemy?
[25] Wilt thou frighten a driven leaf
and pursue dry chaff?
[26] For thou writest bitter things against me,
and makest me inherit the iniquities of my youth.
[27] Thou puttest my feet in the stocks,
and watchest all my paths;
thou settest a bound to the soles of my feet.
[28] Man wastes away like a rotten thing,
like a garment that is moth-eaten.

　

13 장

[1] 나의 눈이 이것을 다 보았고 나의 귀가 이것을 듣고 통달하였느니라
[2] 너희 아는 것을 나도 아노니 너희만 못한 내가 아니니라
[3] 참으로 나는 전능자에게 말씀하려 하며 하나님과 변론하려 하노라
[4] 너희는 거짓말을 지어내는 자요 다 쓸데 없는 의원이니라
[5] 너희가 잠잠하고 잠잠하기를 원하노라 이것이 너희의 지혜일 것이니라
[6] 너희는 나의 변론을 들으며 내 입술의 변명을 들어 보라
[7] 너희가 하나님을 위하여 불의를 말하려느냐 그를 위하어 궤휼을 말하려느냐
[8] 너희가 하나님의 낯을 좇으려느냐 그를 위하여 쟁론하려느냐
[9] 하나님이 너희를 감찰하시면 좋겠느냐 너희가 사람을 속임 같이 그를 속이려느냐
[10] 만일 가만히 낯을 좇을진대 그가 정녕 너희를 책망하시리니
[11] 그 존귀가 너희를 두렵게 하지 않겠으며 그 위엄이 너희에게 임하지 않겠느냐
[12] 너희 격언은 재 같은 속담이요 너희의 방어하는 것은 토성이니라
[13] 너희는 잠잠하고 나를 버려두어 말하게 하라 무슨 일이 임하든지 내가 당하리라
[14] 내가 어찌하여 내 살을 내 이로 물고 내 생명을 내 손에 두겠느냐
[15] 그가 나를 죽이시리니 내가 소망이 없노라 그러나 그의 앞에서 내 행위를 변백하리라
[16] 사곡한 자는 그의 앞에 이르지 못하나니 이것이 나의 구원이 되리라
[17] 너희는 들으라 내 말을 들으라 나의 설명을 너희 귀에 담을지니라
[18] 보라 내가 내 사정을 진술하였거니와 내가 스스로 의로운 줄 아노라
[19] 나와 변론할 자가 누구이랴 그러면 내가 잠잠하고 기운이 끊어지리라
[20] 오직 내게 이 두 가지 일을 행하지 마옵소서 그리하시면 내가 주의 얼굴을 피하여 숨지 아니하오리니
[21] 곧 주의 손을 내게 대지 마옵시며 주의 위엄으로 나를 두렵게 마옵실 것이니이다
[22] 그리하시고 주는 나를 부르소서 내가 대답하리이다 혹 나로 말씀하게 하옵시고 주는 내게 대답하옵소서
[23] 나의 불법과 죄가 얼마나 많으니이까 나의 허물과 죄를 내게 알게 하옵소서
[24] 주께서 어찌하여 얼굴을 가리우시고 나를 주의 대적으로 여기시나이까
[25] 주께서 어찌하여 날리는 낙엽을 놀래시며 마른 검불을 따르시나이까
[26] 주께서 나를 대적하사 괴로운 일들을 기록하시며 나로 나의 어렸을 때에 지은 죄를 받게 하시오며
[27] 내 발을 착고에 채우시며 나의 모든 길을 살피사 내 발자취를 한정하시나이다
[28] 나는 썩은 물건의 후패함 같으며 좀먹은 의복 같으니이다

　

Job.14

[1] "Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
[2] He comes forth like a flower, and withers;
he flees like a shadow, and continues not.
[3] And dost thou open thy eyes upon such a one
and bring him into judgment with thee?
[4] Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean?
There is not one.
[5] Since his days are determined,
and the number of his months is with thee,
and thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass,
[6] look away from him, and desist,
that he may enjoy, like a hireling, his day.
[7] "For there is hope for a tree,
if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that its shoots will not cease.
[8] Though its root grow old in the earth,
and its stump die in the ground,
[9] yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put forth branches like a young plant.
[10] But man dies, and is laid low;
man breathes his last, and where is he?
[11] As waters fail from a lake,
and a river wastes away and dries up,
[12] so man lies down and rises not again;
till the heavens are no more he will not awake,
or be roused out of his sleep.
[13] Oh that thou wouldest hide me in Sheol,
that thou wouldest conceal me until thy wrath be past,
that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
[14] If a man die, shall he live again?
All the days of my service I would wait,
till my release should come.
[15] Thou wouldest call, and I would answer thee;
thou wouldest long for the work of thy hands.
[16] For then thou wouldest number my steps,
thou wouldest not keep watch over my sin;
[17] my transgression would be sealed up in a bag,
and thou wouldest cover over my iniquity.
[18] "But the mountain falls and crumbles away,
and the rock is removed from its place;
[19] the waters wear away the stones;
the torrents wash away the soil of the earth;
so thou destroyest the hope of man.
[20] Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passes;
thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
[21] His sons come to honor, and he does not know it;
they are brought low, and he perceives it not.
[22] He feels only the pain of his own body,
and he mourns only for himself."

　

14 장

[1] 여인에게서 난 사람은 사는 날이 적고 괴로움이 가득하며
[2] 그 발생함이 꽃과 같아서 쇠하여지고 그림자 같이 신속하여서 머물지 아니하거늘
[3] 이와 같은 자를 주께서 눈을 들어 살피시나이까 나를 주의 앞으로 이끌어서 심문하시나이까
[4] 누가 깨끗한 것을 더러운 것 가운데서 낼 수 있으리이까 하나도 없나이다
[5] 그 날을 정하셨고 그 달 수도 주께 있으므로 그 제한을 정하여 넘어가지 못하게 하셨사온즉
[6] 그에게서 눈을 돌이켜 그로 쉬게 하사 품군 같이 그 날을 마치게 하옵소서
[7] 나무는 소망이 있나니 찍힐지라도 다시 움이 나서 연한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며
[8] 그 뿌리가 땅에서 늙고 줄기가 흙에서 죽을지라도
[9] 물 기운에 움이 돋고 가지가 발하여 새로 심은 것과 같거니와
[10] 사람은 죽으면 소멸되나니 그 기운이 끊어진즉 그가 어디 있느뇨
[11] 물이 바다에서 줄어지고 하수가 잦아서 마름 같이
[12] 사람이 누우면 다시 일어나지 못하고 하늘이 없어지기까지 눈을 뜨지 못하며 잠을 깨지 못하느니라
[13] 주는 나를 음부에 감추시며 주의 진노가 쉴 때까지 나를 숨기시고 나를 위하여 기한을 정하시고 나를 기억하옵소서
[14] 사람이 죽으면 어찌 다시 살리이까 나는 나의 싸우는 모든 날 동안을 참고 놓이기를 기다렸겠나이다
[15] 주께서는 나를 부르셨겠고 나는 대답하였겠나이다 주께서는 주의 손으로 지으신 것을 아껴 보셨겠나이다
[16] 그러하온데 이제 주께서 나의 걸음을 세시오니 나의 죄를 살피지 아니하시나이까
[17] 내 허물을 주머니에 봉하시고 내 죄악을 싸매시나이다
[18] 무너지는 산은 정녕 흩어지고 바위는 그 자리에서 옮겨가고
[19] 물은 돌을 닳게 하고 넘치는 물은 땅의 티끌을 씻어 버리나이다 이와 같이 주께서는 사람의 소망을 끊으시나이다
[20] 주께서 사람을 영영히 이기셔서 떠나게 하시며 그의 얼굴 빛을 변하게 하시고 쫓아 보내시오니
[21] 그 아들이 존귀하나 그가 알지 못하며 비천하나 그가 깨닫지 못하나이다
[22] 오직 자기의 살이 아프고 자기의 마음이 슬플 뿐이니이다

　

Job.15

[1] Then Eli'phaz the Te'manite answered:
[2] "Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge,
and fill himself with the east wind?
[3] Should he argue in unprofitable talk,
or in words with which he can do no good?
[4] But you are doing away with the fear of God,
and hindering meditation before God.
[5] For your iniquity teaches your mouth,
and you choose the tongue of the crafty.
[6] Your own mouth condemns you, and not I;
your own lips testify against you.
[7] "Are you the first man that was born?
Or were you brought forth before the hills?
[8] Have you listened in the council of God?
And do you limit wisdom to yourself?
[9] What do you know that we do not know?
What do you understand that is not clear to us?
[10] Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us,
older than your father.
[11] Are the consolations of God too small for you,
or the word that deals gently with you?
[12] Why does your heart carry you away,
and why do your eyes flash,
[13] that you turn your spirit against God,
and let such words go out of your mouth?
[14] What is man, that he can be clean?
Or he that is born of a woman, that he can be righteous?
[15] Behold, God puts no trust in his holy ones,
and the heavens are not clean in his sight;
[16] how much less one who is abominable and corrupt,
a man who drinks iniquity like water!
[17] "I will show you, hear me;
and what I have seen I will declare
[18] (what wise men have told,
and their fathers have not hidden,
[19] to whom alone the land was given,
and no stranger passed among them).
[20] The wicked man writhes in pain all his days,
through all the years that are laid up for the ruthless.
[21] Terrifying sounds are in his ears;
in prosperity the destroyer will come upon him.
[22] He does not believe that he will return out of darkness,
and he is destined for the sword.
[23] He wanders abroad for bread, saying, `Where is it?'
He knows that a day of darkness is ready at his hand;
[24] distress and anguish terrify him;
they prevail against him, like a king prepared for battle.
[25] Because he has stretched forth his hand against God,
and bids defiance to the Almighty,
[26] running stubbornly against him
with a thick-bossed shield;
[27] because he has covered his face with his fat,
and gathered fat upon his loins,
[28] and has lived in desolate cities,
in houses which no man should inhabit,
which were destined to become heaps of ruins;
[29] he will not be rich, and his wealth will not endure,
nor will he strike root in the earth;
[30] he will not escape from darkness;
the flame will dry up his shoots,
and his blossom will be swept away by the wind.
[31] Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself;
for emptiness will be his recompense.
[32] It will be paid in full before his time,
and his branch will not be green.
[33] He will shake off his unripe grape, like the vine,
and cast off his blossom, like the olive tree.
[34] For the company of the godless is barren,
and fire consumes the tents of bribery.
[35] They conceive mischief and bring forth evil
and their heart prepares deceit."

[1] 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 가로되
[2] 지혜로운 자가 어찌 헛된 지식으로 대답하겠느냐 어찌 동풍으로 그 품에 채우겠느냐
[3] 어찌 유조치 아니한 이야기,무익한 말로 변론하겠느냐
[4] 참으로 네가 하나님 경외하는 일을 폐하여 하나님 앞에 묵도하기를 그치게 하는구나
[5] 네 죄악이 네 입을 가르치나니 네가 간사한 자의 혀를 택하였구나
[6] 너를 정죄한 것은 내가 아니요 네 입이라 네 입술이 너를 쳐서 증거하느니라
[7] 네가 제일 처음 난 사람이냐 산들이 있기 전에 네가 출생하였느냐
[8] 하나님의 모의를 네가 들었느냐 지혜를 홀로 가졌느냐
[9] 너의 아는 것이 무엇이기로 우리가 알지 못하겠느냐 너의 깨달은것이 무엇이기로 우리에게는 없겠느냐
[10] 우리 중에는 머리가 세기도 하고 연로하기도 하여 네 부친보다 나이 많은 자가 있느니라
[11] 하나님의 위로와 네게 온유하게 하시는 말씀을 네가 어찌 작다 하느냐
[12] 어찌하여 네가 마음에 끌리며 네 눈을 번쩍여
[13] 네 영으로 하나님을 반대하고 네 입으로 말들을 내느냐
[14] 사람이 무엇이관대 깨끗하겠느냐 여인에게서 난 자가 무엇이관대 의롭겠느냐
[15] 하나님은 그 거룩한 자들을 믿지 아니 하시나니 하늘이라도 그의 보시기에 부정하거든
[16] 하물며 악을 짓기를 물 마심 같이 하는 가증하고 부패한 사람이겠느냐
[17] 내가 네게 보이리니 나를 들으라 내가 본 것을 설명하리라
[18] 이는 곧 지혜로운 자들이 그 열조에게서 받아 숨기지 아니하고 전하여 온 것이라
[19] 이 땅은 그들에게만 주셨으므로 외인은 그들 중에 왕래하지 못하였었느니라
[20] 그 말에 이르기를 악인은 그 일평생에 고통을 당하며 강포자의 햇수는 작정되었으므로
[21] 그 귀에는 놀라운 소리가 들리고 그 형통할 때에 멸망시키는 자가 그에게 임하리니
[22] 그가 어두운 데서 나오기를 바라지 못하고 칼날의 기다림이 되느니라
[23] 그는 유리하며 식물을 구하여 이르기를 어디 있느냐 하며 흑암한 날이 가까운 줄을 스스로 아느니라
[24] 환난과 고통이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리니
[25] 이는 그 손을 들어 하나님을 대적하며 교만하여 전능자를 배반함이니라
[26] 그는 목을 굳게 하고 두터운 방패로 하나님을 치려고 달려가나니
[27] 그 얼굴에는 살이 찌고 허리에는 기름이 엉기었고
[28] 그는 황무한 성읍,사람이 살지 아니하는 집,돌 무더기가 될 곳에 거하였음이니라
[29] 그는 부요하지 못하고 재산이 항상 있지 못하며 그 산업이 땅에서 증식하지 못할 것이며
[30] 흑암한 데를 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그 가지를 말릴 것이라 하나님의 입김에 그가 떠나리라
[31] 그는 스스로 속아 허망한 것을 믿지 말 것은 허망한 것이 그의 보응이 될 것임이라
[32] 그의 날이 이르기 전에 그 일이 이룰 것인즉 그 가지가 푸르지 못하리니
[33] 포도열매가 익기 전에 떨어짐 같고 감람 꽃이 곧 떨어짐 같으리라
[34] 사곡한 무리는 결실이 없고 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막은 불탈 것이라
[35] 그들은 악한 생각을 배고 불의를 낳으며 마음에 궤휼을 예비한다 하였느니라

　

Job.16

[1] Then Job answered:
[2] "I have heard many such things;
miserable comforters are you all.
[3] Shall windy words have an end?
Or what provokes you that you answer?
[4] I also could speak as you do,
if you were in my place;
I could join words together against you,
and shake my head at you.
[5] I could strengthen you with my mouth,
and the solace of my lips would assuage your pain.
[6] "If I speak, my pain is not assuaged,
and if I forbear, how much of it leaves me?
[7] Surely now God has worn me out;
he has made desolate all my company.
[8] And he has shriveled me up,
which is a witness against me;
and my leanness has risen up against me,
it testifies to my face.
[9] He has torn me in his wrath, and hated me;
he has gnashed his teeth at me;
my adversary sharpens his eyes against me.
[10] Men have gaped at me with their mouth,
they have struck me insolently upon the cheek,
they mass themselves together against me.
[11] God gives me up to the ungodly,
and casts me into the hands of the wicked.
[12] I was at ease, and he broke me asunder;
he seized me by the neck and dashed me to pieces;
he set me up as his target,
[13] his archers surround me.
He slashes open my kidneys, and does not spare;
he pours out my gall on the ground.
[14] He breaks me with breach upon breach;
he runs upon me like a warrior.
[15] I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin,
and have laid my strength in the dust.
[16] My face is red with weeping,
and on my eyelids is deep darkness;
[17] although there is no violence in my hands,
and my prayer is pure.
[18] "O earth, cover not my blood,
and let my cry find no resting place.
[19] Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven,
and he that vouches for me is on high.
[20] My friends scorn me;
my eye pours out tears to God,
[21] that he would maintain the right of a man with God,
like that of a man with his neighbor.
[22] For when a few years have come
I shall go the way whence I shall not return.

　

16 장

[1] 욥이 대답하여 가로되
[2] 이런 말은 내가 많이 들었나니 너희는 다 번뇌케 하는 안위자로 구나
[3] 허망한 말이 어찌 끝이 있으랴 네가 무엇에 격동되어 이같이 대답하는고
[4] 나도 너희처럼 말할 수 있나니 가령 너희 마음이 내 마음 자리에 있다 하자 나도 말을 지어 너희를 치며 너희를 향하여 머리를 흔들 수 있느니라
[5] 그래도 입으로 너희를 강하게 하며 입술의 위로로 너희의 근심을 풀었으리라
[6] 내가 말하여도 내 근심이 풀리지 아니하나니 잠잠한들 어찌 평안하랴
[7] 이제 주께서 나를 곤고케 하시고 나의 무리를 패괴케 하셨나이다
[8] 주께서 나를 시들게 하셨으니 이는 나를 향하여 증거를 삼으심이라 나의 파리한 모양이 일어나서 대면하여 나의 죄를 증거하나이다
[9] 그는 진노하사 나를 찢고 군박하시며 나를 향하여 이를 갈고 대적이 되어 뾰족한 눈으로 나를 보시고
[10] 무리들은 나를 향하여 입을 벌리며 나를 천대하여 뺨을 치며 함께 모여 나를 대적하는구나
[11] 하나님이 나를 경건치 않은 자에게 붙이시며 악인의 손에 던지셨구나
[12] 내가 평안하더니 그가 나를 꺾으시며 내 목을 잡아던져 나를 부숴뜨리시며 나를 세워 과녁을 삼으시고
[13] 그 살로 나를 사방으로 쏘아 인정 없이 내 허리를 뚫고 내 쓸개로 땅에 흘러나오게 하시는구나
[14] 그가 나를 꺾고 다시 꺾고 용사 같이 내게 달려드시니
[15] 내가 굵은 베를 꿰어매어 내 피부에 덮고 내 뿔을 티끌에 더럽혔구나
[16] 내 얼굴은 울음으로 붉었고 내 눈꺼풀에는 죽음의 그늘이 있구나
[17] 그러나 내 손에는 포학이 없고 나의 기도는 정결하니라
[18] 땅아 내 피를 가리우지 말라 나의 부르짖음으로 쉴 곳이 없게 되기를 원하노라
[19] 지금 나의 증인이 하늘에 계시고 나의 보인이 높은 데 계시니라
[20] 나의 친구는 나를 조롱하나 내 눈은 하나님을 향하여 눈물을 흘리고
[21] 사람과 하나님 사이에와 인자와 그 이웃 사이에 변백하시기를 원하노니
[22] 수 년이 지나면 나는 돌아오지 못할 길로 갈 것임이니라

　

Job.17

[1] My spirit is broken, my days are extinct,
the grave is ready for me.
[2] Surely there are mockers about me,
and my eye dwells on their provocation.
[3] "Lay down a pledge for me with thyself;
who is there that will give surety for me?
[4] Since thou hast closed their minds to understanding,
therefore thou wilt not let them triumph.
[5] He who informs against his friends to get a share of their property,
the eyes of his children will fail.
[6] "He has made me a byword of the peoples,
and I am one before whom men spit.
[7] My eye has grown dim from grief,
and all my members are like a shadow.
[8] Upright men are appalled at this,
and the innocent stirs himself up against the godless.
[9] Yet the righteous holds to his way,
and he that has clean hands grows stronger and stronger.
[10] But you, come on again, all of you,
and I shall not find a wise man among you.
[11] My days are past, my plans are broken off,
the desires of my heart.
[12] They make night into day;
`The light,' they say, `is near to the darkness.'
[13] If I look for Sheol as my house,
if I spread my couch in darkness,
[14] if I say to the pit, `You are my father,'
and to the worm, `My mother,' or `My sister,'
[15] where then is my hope?
Who will see my hope?
[16] Will it go down to the bars of Sheol?
Shall we descend together into the dust?"

[1] 나의 기운이 쇠하였으며 나의 날이 다하였고 무덤이 나를 위하여 예비되었구나
[2] 나를 조롱하는 자들이 오히려 나와 함께 있으므로 내 눈이 그들의 격동함을 항상 보는구나
[3] 청컨대 보증물을 주시고 친히 나의 보주가 되옵소서 주 외에 나로 더불어 손을 칠 자가 누구리이까
[4] 주께서 그들의 마음을 가리워 깨닫지 못하게 하셨사오니 그들을 높이지 아니 하시리이다
