This is
a list of books, articles
and other matters of importance regarding pacifism. As you will note, pacifism
is one of the least written topics imaginable for such an important issue. If
you have knowledge of any books, movies or articles on the topics of war and
peace, forward such information to us in order that we may post on this page.

The written word is very important to the pacifist because we
are challenged on our views on a daily basis. People want
to believe in peace and we, as pacifists must be able to give them a concrete
rational for such belief! Therefore, we must each one become an expert in the
articulation of the the theology and philosophy of peace as well as its
practitioner.

The Red Badge of Courage. By
Stephen Crane.
All Quiet on the Western Front. by
Erich Maria Remarque, A. W. Wheen (Translator) Paul Baumer enlisted with
his classmates in the German army of World War I. Youthful, enthusiastic, they
become soldiers. But despite what they have learned, they break into pieces
under the first bombardment in the trenches. And as horrible war plods on year
after year, Paul holds fast to a single vow: to fight against the principles of
hate that meaninglessly pits young men of the same generation but different
uniforms against each other--if only he can come out of the war alive.
"The world has a great writer in Erich Maria Remarque. He is a craftsman of
unquestionably first rank, a man who can bend language to his will. Whether he
writes of men or of inanimate nature, his touch is sensitive, firm, and
sure."
Cold Mountain, Charles Frazier
Johnny Got His Gun, Dalton Trumbo
Slaughterhouse 5, Kurt Vonnegut
Catch 22, Joseph Heller
